Accused
On November 14, 2016, I received the following email from MuseScore:
"Hello Huug Verschuijl,
We received a report that your score Short Melody No. 12 is infringing on someone else's author rights. We have taken down this content from MuseScore for the time being.
Reportedly infringed copyright:
Artist: The Mamas
Song: California Dreamin'
Publisher: Music Sales Ltd.
You can dispute this report, if you believe the copyright content has been mistakenly identified or if you have obtained all the necessary rights, licenses and/or permissions to upload and share this work on MuseScore."
Since then, after sending in my defence, I have been waiting, asking why I didn’t get any reply, waiting again, asking if my Short Melody No. 12 could be reinstated, and so on. But no, not a single reaction. Now I’m done with it. This video is what I’m saying to the world, a protest against the fact that I have been accused of plagiarism, just like that, and without any reason.
